Lost for something to do?
You could do worse than take a tour of the old city walls of Southampton. There is a lot of history here, all along the walls there are plaques explaining what was going on at various periods in time, it really is interesting.
There is a site Below Bar that is being excavated and was used as ancient wine vaults. Opposite The De Vere Grand Harbour Hotel is probably the best preserved stretch of Southampton's old walls, did you know that Southampton water used to come right up to these walls?
